The Centre told Parliament that the Supreme Court's 2018 Cauvery verdict does not require Karnataka to get approval from Tamil Nadu, Kerala or Puducherry before starting Cauvery projects. It said the Mekedatu project report was returned in 2019, and Karnataka must submit a revised DPR before the proposal can be considered further.
