Who Is Jhandu Kumar? Polio Survivor Wins India's First CWG Medal

Jhandu Kumar, son of a vegetable vendor and polio-affected since birth, won India's first official medal at CWG 2026, a bronze in para powerlifting. He lifted 190kg. He started in shot put and discus, later switching to powerlifting. He overcame financial struggles, even running a vegetable business, before being trained by Paralympic medalist Rajinder Singh.
