The Centre said train accidents in India have fallen sharply over the past 12 years, with only two reported until June 2026. Railway safety funding has increased three times, while new technologies like Kavach, better infrastructure and maintenance have improved safety. The Railways is also filling over 1.61 lakh non-gazetted vacancies.
