UPI transactions have surged by 273% over the past 5 years, reflecting India's rapid shift toward digital payments. In the Lok Sabha, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said UPI had 55.49 crore users as of June 2026. He added that the RBI and NPCI continue strengthening UPI security, while UPI services are available in 10 countries.
