Telangana Prioritises Drinking Water Over Irrigation

Telangana Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the government will prioritise drinking water over irrigation until June next year due to low rainfall. Farmers were advised to avoid water-intensive crops like paddy and grow less water-consuming crops instead. The government will also monitor reservoirs closely and prepare for possible water shortages.
