The Andhra Pradesh government plans to limit FCV tobacco production to 81 million kg in the 2026-27 season to tackle surplus supply and help farmers. Weak exports and excess production have pushed prices below ₹250 per kg. The government is also speeding up procurement and asking tobacco companies to offer better prices to growers.
