Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis formed a seven-member expert panel to prepare a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) draft for the state. Retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai will lead the committee. It will study legal, social and administrative issues before giving recommendations. The draft law may be introduced in the Winter Session.
