A LocalCircles survey found 95% of listed companies use "dark patterns" like hidden charges, fake countdown timers, misleading discounts, forced subscriptions and difficult cancellations. These tricks can push people to spend more online. The report urged Sebi to make companies declare themselves free from such practices to protect consumers.
