NCERT has revised the Class 8 Social Science chapter on the judiciary after the Supreme Court objected to references about judicial corruption. The updated textbook removes the disputed content and includes new chapters on voter roll revision, elections, EVMs, VVPATs and the 1975–77 Emergency to explain key democratic processes and events more clearly.
