Keiko Fujimori, 51, leader of Peru's Conservative Party, won the country's presidential election after narrowly defeating left-wing candidate Roberto Sanchez in a closely contested run-off. Fujimori secured 50.13% of the vote against Sanchez's 49.86%, winning by fewer than 50,000 votes. She is scheduled to be sworn in as Peru's President July 28th.
