Centre Bans 16 FDC Drugs Over Safety Concerns

The Health Ministry has banned 16 Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) drugs under Section 26A of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, citing safety and efficacy concerns. Acting on Supreme Court directions and expert review by DTAB, the government found them irrational and risky. The ban, effective immediately, covers manufacture, sale and distribution nationwide.
