13 Nations Defend Expanded FIFA World Cup Format

A group of 13 FIFA World Cup teams has responded to comments by UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin on the expanded 48-team format. Ceferin had suggested that increasing participation from 32 teams could reduce the competition's quality. The football teams, including debutants Cape Verde, Curacao and Uzbekistan, said they firmly disagreed with his remarks.
