Kerala will create a 500-member Special Reserve Force to reduce wild elephant attacks and human-wildlife conflict. The force will monitor elephant movements, warn residents, patrol vulnerable areas and support rescue teams. It will include tribal members, retired forest officials and local experts. The move follows several recent deaths caused by elephant attacks.
