A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck Bhutan's Punakha region at around 11:06 pm last night, with the epicentre located at Punakha at a depth of 10 km. Tremors were felt across parts of West Bengal, Assam, other northeastern states, Bangladesh and Bhutan. Residents in Gangtok and several areas of Sikkim also experienced the shaking for a few seconds.
